We are all accustomed to the “hot new gadget” syndrome, but often those gadgets end up in the junk pile collecting dust. But, once in a while a new product is developed that creates major buzz, and offers the possibility of truly becoming an innovator. Enter the Mattel Mindflex Game, and it is quickly becoming one of those must have gadgets that you will truly enjoy, it’s already picking up nicknames such as the ultimate mental marathon, and basketball for your brain–Interesting huh? Well the pseudo-names aren’t the only catchy part of this truly innovative technology.
How Does It Work?
What makes the Mindflex game truly unique is it’s functionality. The game works with the players brainwaves, which it interprets through a headset made with uniquely designed sensors that are located on the forehead and earlobes of the headset, it then takes those signals and converts them into energy. That energy is used to power a fan that blows a stream of air onto the ball causing it to levitate. The more brain-wave activity there is, the faster the fan in the unit will spin, causing the small ball to levitate higher; lesser brain wave activity would cause the ball to fall lower.
A simple game of being able to raise and lower the ball with ones mental capability could prove to be fun for hours. But the fun doesn’t stop there, the game becomes more exciting and challenging once you have mastered the levitation feature and move to the next phase of gaming which involves using the power of your concentration to not only keep the ball suspended, but to guide the ball through the customizable obstacle course, which you are able to adjust and configure based on your preferences. Some features include a variety of hoops, hurdles and funnels. Each level tests your individual ability in areas such as speed, focus and creativity. Many other challenges include players lifting a ball through a funnel, and shooting it across the game console to score points.
